Fields of Poppies
Fall 2023.
Frequently, I find myself exploring (and enjoying) the backroads of rural Michigan. The inspiration for these particular pieces is from one such exploration: I turned a corner and encountered someone’s field spattered with unexpected poppies. The Michigan landscape has a simple yet captivating beauty that can change with every bend in the road.
A series of bonsai pots, fired to Cone 6, with slip, brushing media, mason stains, amaco underglaze, and Coyote speckled matte glaze on the rim.
